In the weeks before Easter, Christians often observe a time called LENT. Special church services are held to meditate on the life of Jesus that culminated in his suffering and death on the cross to save sinners.
People gather at Beautiful Savior on Wednesday evenings for 40-45 minutes. We sing hymns that tell the story of Jesus’ deep love for us. We read passages from the Bible that record what Jesus said and how he suffered in the days before his death. We listen as the pastor shares a devotional message that points our hearts and eyes to Christ.
While lent is typically known as a time of somber reflection and repentant sorrow over sins, we know that each week we get closer to Easter and there we see how the cross and suffering truly were a JOY that was set before Jesus.
